The BooTiki Story
Meet Axel, the Inspiration for Creating This Charity
The BooTiki Fund is a 501c3 public charity formed in tribute to a beloved pet named Axel. Axel's impact on his family was deep, and his passing left them with a void that they felt would be best filled by helping others who love their pets the way we loved Axel and were in a difficult financial position to give their pet the medical treatment they deserved.
How did this organization get it's name?
Axel’s nickname was Boo. We combined his nickname “Boo” with the "Tiki," a symbol of protection and good fortune, to create the BooTiki Fund.

About the BooTiki Fund
What does the BooTiki Fund Do?
The BooTiki Fund was created to help people help animals. One part of its mission is to provide financial assistance to individuals and families who would otherwise be unable to afford necessary medical treatment for serious, life-threatening conditions facing their pet. After meeting specific criteria and filling out an application, the application for assistance is reviewed by the BooTiki Board to see if the application is something that the fund can and should support.
Another important part of the BooTiki Fund mission is to help communities of under-served people get basic medical care for the pets. This is known as the Near and Far Fund, and provides funding for medicine and medical supplies for volunteer veterinary spay and neuter clinics abroad as well as wellness clinics and spay & neuter clinics in Camden and Philadelphia communities.
You can find more information about each type of program on this website.

The BooTiki Fund & You

- Do you have a friend who took their sick fur baby to the vet and found the care was outside their ability to pay?
- Have you ever heard someone say they chose to put their pet down, because they couldn’t afford the treatment that could save the fur babies’ life?
Do these questions resonate with you? If your answer is "yes":
Join us in our mission to ensure pets in crisis receive the care they need to stay healthy. With your help, we can make sure no one in our community has to choose between emergency care for their pet or leaving the pet behind.
